Part 1 of vacation

After my "sick" week with shingles (I still am having the after effects....nerve pain!) I started my vacation with a Garden tour of 9 amazing gardens in Morgantown. My friend Karen and I are standing in front of some beautiful sunflowers at one of the gardens. We got majorly motivated to beautify our gardens as well, but for me....that hasn't happened yet.
Mike and I had planned to go to one of the state parks to camp out, but with the humidity and my shingles, I just couldn't imagine doing that....but we did go to our friends cabin along the Cacapon River and had a couple glorious days of rest and relaxation. Along the way, we stopped at Paw Paw and picked up the C&O Canal trail. I actually road my bike about 10 miles and what a workout as well as a beautiful ride along to Potomac River. The next morning we took a short walk along the "loop" where the cabin is....it was so humid that my clothing was soaked by the time we returned. But we were able to watch a couple movies, read some books that we've wanted to read, enjoy just being together in the woods. All in all it was a great time.
Today, Mike and I are heading on our own mini vacations. Me, I'm flying to Atlanta to see my son! I am really excited to see him. And Mike is heading to southern WV to spend some time boating/whitewatering on the New River and the Gauley River. He'll get to visit with some of his friends from when he lived in that area.
So time to get packed and ready to go. God willing, I'll provide you Part 2 soon.
Lift up some prayers for Mike and I as we travel.
Love to all....Pam
