Vacation Part 2

Well, my trip to Jasper was great! My flight got to Atlanta safely and my boy was waiting for me in the baggage claim. I couldn't hug him enough! We had a really relaxed, yet busy, time together. After watching the WVU Game and getting a good night sleep, we went out for breakfast and lunch on Friday. Walt got a haircut, we shopped a bit, and then decided to do some "projects" at his house. Off to Home Depot for primer, paint and cyprus trees. We stripped wallpaper border in his bathroom, primed and painted it. Looks great. Planted 5 cyprus trees to separate his house from his neighbors...a nice natural privacy fence. On Sunday after church, we went up to Sharp Top...the YL camp, and Walt drove me around in the golf cart/4-wheeler vehicle. We had a blast...or at least I did! It was fun going thru the woods on a bike trail at over 25mi/hr.
I hated coming home, but my flight back to Pgh was safe and swift.
It's tough for a parent to see their child grow up and move on. But I can tell you that it is a blessing from God to see that same child grow with Christ as his main focus in life and how he seeks God and trusts Him to provide. The peace I see in my son's eyes is a peace that can only come from the Lord. It's an awesome feeling. But even more, my son is my friend and that too is really really cool.
May all you moms and dads out there experience that kind of relationship with your own children.
My dear husband had a good few days while I was off with Walt. Mike did some white-water guiding on the New River and got to visit with some of his old friends.
Today we were both back to work and I think that is always tough after a great vacation.
Love ya friends.....Pam
