My Poor Baby

Here's the patient and his boo-boos. As you can see, his eye is very bloodshot, swollen and bruised. His nose has the "bolster" sutured to it to keep the skin graft in place. As my sis-in-law Mary Ann says....he looks like "Mike Tyson gave him a right hook"....(I hope I'm quoting you correctly, Mary)
It's going to be tough keeping him down though. The docs don't want him doing much that might cause the graft to not set or the sutures to come out. Thanks to all for prayers and encouragement. We've got an amazing support system and appreciate all of you.
This entire ordeal has given me a greater appreciation of people who have serious illnesses that require them to spend a lot of time at the doctors or in the hospital. I know my patients at the cancer center often spend the entire day there getting their chemo treatments. When I think that Mike and I got so frustrated having to wait around for this and that, and then when I think of all that others go thru, I feel ashamed of my frustration. (Hans, you've been there friend and you are my hero!) Mike and I agree that we are so blessed with good health and should never take it for granted. He's telling everyone to put sunscreen on their noses!! Now if I could just get him to quit smoking too!!
Thanks friends. Enjoy good health! We plan to.
Pam
