Monday's are always like a Saturday in our house. Mike works on Saturday, but has Monday off. Today was a fairly nice day after our blizzard on the real Saturday. That was the day I watched 3 movies and worked feverishly on the wedding favors for Walt and Annie's wedding which is just around the corner. I'm happy to say that they are completely finished! I think they turned out real nice. Very simple but sophisticated.
I've been struggling lately with the idea of quiting my job and being "retired" even though I can't collect my retirement income yet. I don't really know the reason why I wanted to quit but I just did. I'm thankful that I have a husband who doesn't get excited when I get these hairbrained ideas. He just listens, gives his opinion and let's me consider the situation. I'm thankful too that my husband has taught me not to be impulsive which in the past I've been known to be. I truthfully have the best job in the world. It's hard work. It's dealing with cancer, death, sadness....very little joy. I work with wonderful coworkers who are very encouraging, funny, loving, and caring. I have superiors who are always available to listen...their doors are always open. And even after I bounced the idea off my family and friends, I was still left with indecision. It wasn't until I met a new lady...Nancy....who is an old friend of my friend Cathy, that I got the answer. Nancy said to me..."the grass isn't always greener. You have a job, I don't. You should keep your job". Wow! Simple statements but they had a big impact on my decision. I like how this woman thinks! I'm keeping my job....!!! Besides, the $$ is good and I don't have to work that hard for it. And when I'm ready to really retire, hopefully all this $$ of mine that I'm putting aside will help Mike and I live a good life. Bottom line: I love how God uses people and circumstances to talk to us. I prayed to Him, I needed an answer, He gave it to me.
Oh! I am now going to be a demonstrator for Stampin' UP! I so enjoy the craft of rubber stamping and it's been a real release for my creative energy so why not share my skills and the fun and delight of making a handmade card or gift for someone special? I'll keep y'all updated on how that goes.
We now have daylight savings time and as always it takes me a few days to adjust. In view of the fact that I've had insomnia anyway, this isn't good. Keep me in your prayers for good, restful sleep. Happy Spring!
