The Elbert's (my son's in-laws) are known for picking up strays and nurturing them until they're ready to go out on their own. When I arrived at there home on 4/21, they had a tiny little bird in a shoe box. It had fallen out of the nest. No feathers, eyes not open, couldn't hold it's head up. Had to be fed with a syringe. Now on 5/2 the bird is covered with feathers, sits on a hand, eats with little help...just not ready to fly yet.
God is amazing how fast some of his creatures grow and mature. After 28 years, I saw my son mature and take a lovely young lady for his bride. He is now the man of the house. He has spread his wings and is flying all on his own. He has a mate to be at his side. A helper in the long run. Walt didn't grow up as fast as the bird has, but when I look back, the time was just a blink, a snap....as fast to me as the growth of the bird has been.
Thank you Lord for your tender love and mercies. You take care of each one of us and grow us in your time. Enjoy each second.
