We just had a great weekend. Just one of those with perfect weather and perfect things to do and that total satisfying feeling that God's in His Heaven and all's right in the world.
Mike had Saturday off, so we headed to Parson's WV. There's a railtrail there that goes from Parsons to Elkins (where I used to live) We found a perfect (free) campsite in the Mon National Forest, set up our site and headed off for a bike ride. It was my first ride of the season so my legs were a bit rusty. Mike went a bit farther than I did but all in all it was a good workout. We got icecream drinks at Sheetz's and headed back for the evening. Mike was able to get another, tougher ride in before dinner. So I had time to get a fire started, relaxed and read, before he got back. We were camped right by a creek (we aim for that every time). The gurgling sound is so soothing, especially when you sleep. We had a quite, uneventful night except for the sighting of suspected bear poo near the creek.
Sunday, we took our time coming back and did some exploring around Teter Creek Lake which is a place we've considered buying a campsite. Monday we decided on another bike ride, a trip to Lowes and the grocery, but before that, we decided to invite a few friends over for an impromptu cookout. Surprisingly, all we invited could actually come so after our errands, we had a great meal of burgers, beans, potato salad, chips, etc....all the typical picnic food. And some really good conversation and fellowship time. Thanks Friends for coming!!
Just a couple side notes. Yesterday 5/26 was Walt and Annie's one month anniversay!! Happy Anniversay kids!
Also, my friend Lorrie has been doing a 30 day fast on unwholesome speech. I just wanted to share the name of a book I discovered that goes along with this...it's called "30 days to Taming your Tongue" by Deborah Smith Pegues. It's quite good and each day it shows us a different form of speech that is sinful in the eyes of God. Opened my eyes too!!
God bless all....Pam
