I left on Aug 7 and returned on Aug 13...just not enough time to see and do all there is in the beautiful city of San Antonio. Of course my main purpose for the visit was to spend time with my son Walt and his new wife Annie. As an added surprise, Annie's mom Becka also joined us for a couple of days. We did a few of the touristy things: saw the Alamo (as seen above), went to the River Walk for dinner, ate lots of Mexican food (fantastic) as well as my first time with Thai food. Visited "el Mercado" the Mexican market downtown and feasted our eyes on a "little" corner of Mexico. They were having a dance show and these beautiful little girs dressed in native costume were performing. What a treat! But the best part of the entire trip was to just see Walt and how happy he is. His getting married and moving and changing jobs was so fast....almost too fast for me to process, even though I knew it was all the right thing to do. He and Annie are so cute together and are doing a great job settling in as newly weds. Their apartment is adorable and huge! They have a great place with close proximitry to everything SA has to offer, yet it's in a nice, pretty neighborhood. Walt's job is a blessing...surely from God. He loves it, works hard at it. Seeing the store and all they do and have to offer was a real eyeopener to me. Huge store, lots of staff at any one time to help the 50+ customers that are there almost all the time. (not the same customers...just that volume of them). Annie's terrific at her Young Life job and it's evident that she loves it and loves the kids. It's neat to hear her talk about them and their accomplishments. So my heart is happy and at peace seeing my son settled into his new life. God has bless him and his wonderful wife and for that I am so thankful.
Thanks to my dear hubby for letting me take off for this visit too. I was good to come home to such a good man.
Now, lots to do! Enjoy the pics!..Pam
