I don't know what order these pics are in but last week (4/21 to be exact), I flew to Ft Worth Texas to meet my son's future in-laws and help with wedding preparations. It was an easy trip down and after picking up my rental car at DFW, I zipped on down to Ft. Worth to meet the Elberts. Annie's mom, Becka and I became instant friends and we spent a LOT of time together prior to the wedding to prepare for the festivities. On one of our trips out to pick up mini-pinatas for the rehearsal dinner tables, we ran into a lady just inside the Garden Rich store who was needing directions for Home Depot. Becka assisted her and as we walked away, I said to Becka "Doesn't that lady look like Ruth Buzzi?" If you all are old like me, you'll remember a show called "Laugh In" in the late 60's. Ruth was the lady who sat on the park bench and the "dirty old man" Artie Johnson would mumble something to her and she'd hit him with her purse. Of course she did other things but that was most memorable to me. Well Becka agreed but we didn't think it could be her! Once we got in line to check out, the same lady was in the line next to us. We whispered and pointed and wondered and finally I got enough courage to ask...."did anyone ever tell you that you look like a certain actress?" She smiled and nodded. "are you her?" and again she smiled and nodded. "Ruth Buzzi??" More nodding. Becka screams! Ms. Buzzi shushes us because people are looking. She was kind enough to let us get photos. It was really, really cool.
